Hello all,

I am stuck in the receiver realm of things, most likely because I have certain criteria for this new receiver.

I am looking for a receiver with ample output power and a good THD %... I need at minimum of 100W cont. power with at least 4 channels. I really don't have a need for anything 5.1 and above. But, I guess I can foresee me expanding the surround sound in the future. So anything up to a 7.1 will suffice.

I am also looking for a recevier to have quality internal components with a rugged chassis build.

I also prefer to have the current (latest and greatest) processing and imaging in this unit. I like THX, Cinema, user EQ's, Dolby technology, etc.

HOWEVER, here's my debacle, I do NOT need any Video switching or HDMI, or video processing, iPod connectivity, etc. I do like digital audio inputs... I may consider XM capability also.

I guess I stricly need an audio receiver. I can't see paying for all the video stuff on a receiver when I will NEVER use it.

I can use multiple audio inputs/outputs. Actually they are required.

I run Klipsch RB-81's and RB-35's. In my spare time I create my own dance/techno music, and I have a set of Alesis Monitors for that. I also listen to XM, and radio. I occasionally will use a receiver for my audio when watching video (DTV) when I run my projector (I rarely use it though)...

I just need something to push these speakers. I'm not really looking for a big video switching/networking receiver. Purely looking for good CLEAN stable power with qualtiy IC's (and components), looks are secondary.

Can anyone suggest something? Or is it hard to perceive what I am looking for?

I have looked at Yamaha RX/HTR series, Onkyo, Denon, Harmon Kardon, and Pioneer Elite.

I love the Yamaha and Pioneer Elite gear, but for the power I need, they ALL incorperate so MUCH video stuff I don't need. I'd rather pay for more power and quality sound production.

Looking to spend no more than $700.00

-thanks-
