As the subject says, I'm a new member and just bought a pair of Focal 926 (killer deal!) and need help finding an amp that works well with these speakers/Focals in general. The recommended amp power is 40-250w. I have read forum posts where folks have powered them at the lower power range, which, to me, just doesn't seem like it's going to allow me to enjoy the speakers at the fullest within my budget ($600). Am I right?
I have a budget of around $600 and, here's the frustrating part, my TV cabinet only accommodates components up to 15.75in deep, but I could always turn the amp sideways to fit, assuming the width of the amp is within that size.
I've been looking at the Marantz MM7025, 140wpc and a bit above my budget, but want your thoughts on whether this is a viable option. Also want to see get your suggestions on other options within this budget and dimensions - I'm totally open to buying second hand or refurbished.
