Building a new media room that will be dedicated to primarily music and movies. Most important is music. . .from CD and up quality. Speakers will be Revel F208s (l/r) and assorted other Revel for the 7.2 build out. Not particularly interested in Atmos. Looking at receivers. . .and have narrowed to two (feel free to add another one). Room is 19x19, music choice is 60% jazz, 40% classical.
My other listening area has B&W CM10s connected to a NAD D390DD.
- Anthem MRX 710. Dealer has these connected to the Revel. I tend to like them.
- Denon X5200W. I have had other (lower end) Denon receives and liked the sound (into BA bookshelves and floor standing).
Given that music is my primary concern, 7.2 secondary. .should I go with the Anthem?
Or. . .should I step down in receiver and go with power amps?
