I do not think that Stereo Review and Stereophile are related. I could be wrong, but the styles of reporting are so different. I would choose a VPI. Made in America and excellent customer service. You can communicate directly with Mat at VPI.

I think the VPI Prime Scout is a good turntable, but I also would suggest that you look at the Music Hall
MMF 7.3, which I think might be better, and for less money.

And don't forget SOTA another American company where you can communicate directly with the owner.

New to the Stereophile forum. If I'm not mistaken Stereophile use to be Stereo Review magazine which I was a subscriber to back in the day. Back when my Dual 1225, Advents, and Kenwood integrated were brand new. Anyway, a lot of equipment has come and gone since then and I'm seeking a little advice.

Any input on these two turntables would be appreciated.

Clearaudio Concept Wood w MaestroV2 or the VPI Prime Scout with Sumiko BP Evolll?

I'm leaning towards the VPI but really because Of looks. TT is going to feed a McIntosh MP100 phono pre and a McIntosh MA5200 integrated to a pair of Cornwall lll's. Auditioning is probably out of the question.

I listen to everything. From blues to classic rock to new age and classical.

Regards,

It seems to me that you have no knowledge of any of the turntables. People spending this kind of money should know about plinth, the arm, the type of motor, the type of cart you plan to use. What can you possibly learn by asking a wide view question like this one. I own Rega turntables, but I would not recommend any models as an answer for this question. Focus why you want a turntable, the amount of investment you are willing to pay, and have the cartridge already chosen before determining the TT you might choose. Example: The VPI people don't think a specific anti-skate control is necessary which I think is insane. When you learn these specific details, then you can make a better choice.

Well kind sir, it seems to me that your pompous attitude and presumptuous response is quite unnecessary.
