I just recently purchased a set of Epos Epic 2 loudspeakers from Music Direct. I am probably approaching 100 hrs of listening. (Associated components- NAD C326BEE, NAD C516BEE and a Peachtree DAC-it, MacBook Air, AudioQuest Golden Gate, Kimber Kable speaker wire). In my initial impression I was impressed by their amazing clarity, detail, and soundstage, however I've found that their midrange, even after a 100 hrs of listening is just a little bright, for my tastes. My question to the experts on this site is... Do I try to try some tweaks to tame the brightness or send them back for something a little warmer.

My ideas for tweaks include the following: Cleaning the power supply, upgraded interconnects, adding some curtains and sound deadening panels, upgrading my DAC to Jolida Glass FX tube or maybe a Border Patrol?......

One of my initial impressions of listening to these speakers is.. they could use some tubes (warmth) added to the sound.. However, I don't want to spend the money for a tube amp, but would consider a under $1000 integrated amp upgrade or an Outlaw 2160 Receiver.

Your opinions would be appreciated!
