Based on what must be nearly two thousand hours of use, and a hankering, I am officially in the market for a new cartridge and stylus. This is the first time I will have repalced a cartridge on this player and am excited to hear the difference.

I am writing in hopes that you'll give me some suggestions on which models to research. Based on the quality of my turntable, I am looking to spend no more than $150.

I listen to a lot of Steely Dan, Dire Straits, and Other 70's rock and occasionally crank out some harder hitting stuff like Pearl Jam or even some rap. At night I listen to Coltrane, Getz, Brubek, Bill Evans, and Amy Winehouse when roommates and neighbors are asleep. My system looks like this:

Vintage Pioneer PL15D-II turntable with current Ortofon Omega MMC

Parasound phono preamp

Adcom 5503 amp

Marantz 8000 receiver

NHT 2.5i speakers

I'd like to try something different just for the sake of trying something new so I have ruled out an Orotofon Omega simply for that reason alone. Do you have any personal favorites?

Thanks!
