Those are great speakers; I used to have them at my old house.

Cambridge makes excellent-sounding AVRs; good choice there. NAD is also good.

Blutooth is low-fidelity by design; don't use it for most things if you have other options.

You should connect analog audio direct from the source to the AVR when possible; NOT through the TV. Just send the video to the TV with an HDMI cable and the audio direct to the AVR.

Do not run an optical output from the TV to anything.

Hi all, I have just acquired a pair of Anthony Gallo Reference 3 speakers and an old Denon Amplifier model AVR-3808 which is really showing its age.
I’m looking for recommendations on a solid replacement amp. I have been looking at the Cambridge Audio SR20.

All I want is good reliable sound that won’t break the bank but I also want to do these speakers justice.

My family has been using the setup and I have just moved into their apartment. There were a ton of inputs for chrome cast and weird things all over the show with wireless headphones etc but my TV is an LG OLED with Bluetooth etc so none of that is an issue any more.

So the AMP will be taking an optical input direct from the TV which is used for Spotify to Netflix to 4K Blu Ray.

Budget wise i am looking in the 4000 - 6000 HKD range which in USD is $500 - $750.

Thanks all in advance. I hope that I have provided enough information on the subject to meet the rules. Please let me know if not and I can provide more :-)

I found that whenever I send the video to the TV via HDMI, and send the audio to the amp, there is a noticeable delay after some time, as audio happens to be processed a little faster. Still can't solve this issue.
