There is a 75w power amp in that sub which is absurdly underpowered. Almost any subwoofer on the market will beat that. I am amazed that was ever made. What is your budget? You can check out eBay or audiogon and I bet you will get a lot more for a small amount of money.
Bierfeldt, thank you so much for your comment. I was curious about that issue as it appears most new subs have 500w power amps or more. I will do some more research, and wont waste any more time trying to make mine work.
Polk, JBL and SVS all make excellent, reasonably priced subs. If you want boom and thunder, a ported sub is the way to go and 200-300w will be good for a medium room. If you want detail and refinement, a sealed sub is necessary. Minimum, 300w for a sealed sub in a small room, 500w in a medium room. If you want thunder and detail, 1000w will be necessary.
You may be able to find a used Sunfire, an HRS 12 will thunder when needed and will give you detail and refinement. Might find one used for $400 - $500. Check audiogon and eBay.
