Hi everyone. I have been reading these forums for quite a while now and they were very helpful in putting together a basic analog system. I just got my new turntable (Pro-ject Debut III) four days ago. I plugged it in, adjusted the tracking force and anti-skate and started playing records. Everything sounded great. On day three, however, I put on a record and noticed a static-like "whoosh" sound corresponding to each revolution of the record. In other words the record is mostly quiet, but every time it comes around to a certain point, the noise is produced. The sound is not loud, but certainly noticible during quieter sections of music. At first I thought it was the record, but after trying several others, including some brand-new vinyl, the sound persisted. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? The rest of my system is the Onkio A-9555 amp and Pardigm Atom Monitors. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
