I have a Denon AVR-3803 Amp and a Niles SI-1230 Amp.
The Denon sits in the family room and facilitates a 7.1 home theatre setup. The Niles SI-1230 is a 12-channel amplifier that delivers 30 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms and 37 watts per channel RMS into 4 ohms.
I am looking to setup speakers in the rest of the house, primarily the bedrooms - via the Niles. I need to route wires from the family room (Denon) into the Niles. The Niles though, sits inside a closet, about 50 feet away. I intend connecting wires from the pre-out (zone2) of the Denon - into the Niles 1230 Main Bus INput. I currently have speaker wires routed to the rest of the home from the closet i.e the Niles needs to sit in the closet.
Question - what kind of wires do I need to connect the Denon 3803 (pre-out) to the Niles SI-1230 Main Bus input.
Can I use 50 feet RCA cables? Can I use 12 or 14 gauge speaker wires? Or some sort of Shielded balanced line cable. I actually have routed speaker wires from the family room to the closet - but I hear using these to connect the Denon to the Niles will cause some interference. Would love to have the gurus speak up. Thanks in advance for the help the newbie seeks...and pardon the ignorance.
P.S - All this may be a bit confusing, so let me know if I can offer any further clarification
Let me know if you need the links to the Niles and Denon userguide. I will try to post it in my next post.
