I have been a LONG time reader of stereophile and I currently have a great 7.1 home theater system that can really knock your socks off. I've decided that I would like to build a dedicated 2 channel system that I can use for some serious listening.

The problem I am facing now is being overwhelmed with options. Also, I want to integrate a vinyl source but know very little about turn tables.

I remember at some point in the past I read an article in stereophile where they gave a complete system list for different price points. i.e. the 5k system, the 10k system, etc. Unfortunately I have been unable to locate that article anymore. (If anyone can point me to it I would really appreciate it.)

If you had 10K to spend on a 2 channel system what would you all recommend? Here are the major components I am looking for:

Turntable (preferably with the cartridge installed)
Phono pre for the table
Digital source (I was thinking the Oppo BDP-83 universal player)
DAC
Separate preamp/amp or very nice integrated amp like the Ayre 7e

I already have a good set of speakers I can use so you do not have to factor that into the price. If you can recommend a set of speakers feel free to include them in the list. I could go over my 10K budget if the speakers were really worth the money.

Thanks in advance for the help!
