I have a Rotel 972 preamp, and Diamond Wharfdale speakers (first version) Also a Cambridge Soundworks subwoofer (which one day I hope to replace with a REl T3)
I'm looking for good used amp on ebay. (I'm trying to spend under $150 including shipping)
Lots of Adcom 5300 & 535 available
Also a Rotel RB 970bx, & 951 (980 cost too much)
Sometimes a rotel 850 or 870 pops up
I have also considered spending more for a newer rotel like the 1050, about $300 is that worth it?
What will work the best? Can anyone explain the differences between the above. (And do I need MOSFET? (5300) is it better?)
FYI I use the system for TV & DVD as well as to play music. I'm a symphonic classical musician so the sound quality is very important to me. (and so is budget) I live in a small Manhattan Apartment so I don't think wattage/volumw is an issue.
