on the audiostream site, I noticed the stacked plywood stands that editor Michael Lavorgna has on his desktop, they looked usefully solid & short & attractive.  I made something similar, using 4 layers of cork flooring (each of the layers is a sandwich of cork, some type of compressed wood, and cork).  They are sized to fit exactly under my desktop speakers, and work well and bring the sound image up.  I used 25 cent samples of the flooring - so total materials cost = $2.

I would suggest one of the integrated amplifiers frpm Arcam, Musical Fidelity, or Creek. They make excellent amplifiers that would be appropriate for those speakers.

I have a Musical Fidelity M3i that is like new that i am going to sell (selling one house and have extra gear).

New price was $1500, and i will let it go for $900.

Send PM.

I'm going to be purchasing a pair of KEF LS50's in the next few weeks. I will be using them as computer speakers.

I would love to recieve some advice on what amp I should get. This entire setup will need to fit on my desk. I'm not exactly cramped for space but I can't have something gargantuan either. Something with a built in DAC would be nice as well. Also, what do you guys thinking about getting desktop speaker stands? Just something short and solid to lay them on.

I've read so many different opinions on what will drive these LS50's. It'd be nice to see what you guys think! Thanks so much!
