In the late 70s I owned a Toshiba pre-amp, amp, speakers, a pair of Sennheiser headphones and a Thorens 160 turntable. All of the above as well as about 250 or so albums were stolen from the apartment we rented. They were never recovered and we had no renters insurance so it was a total loss.

So one day I am perusing audio gear on ebay when I see the very same Toshiba components with the matching tuner up for bid. After winning them and having the lights on the tuner fixed, they are in excellent working order. About the same time I pick up a Thorens 165 turntable with a new cartridge installed. I set it up and it works fine. This is now my garage stereo. I plan to frame the original receipt for the original Toshiba purchases and hang it up somewhere in the garage.

The most recent addition is a Nakamichi cassette deck to go with the other goodies. Guess I can break out all those old unused blank cassettes and put them to good use.
