It is a defective unit.

You should be able to get it replaced with a good one by the manufacturer.

There is no need to spend money on an expensive power supply. The Kastar 12 volt 6 amp AC adapter is only $6.97 from Amazon.

If you got it at Amazon, they have a link/process for contacting the manufacturer or seller regarding defects/problems. Just go to Amazon and click on "My Orders" and find the order and click on the appropriate links and send a message to the seller.
