entry level turntable. Good tonearm, decent cartridge, and has adjustable VTA.
The Music Hall A15.2 would be a very good unit. I like its phono section, build quality and feature set (simple is better), and it is more powerful than the Marantz which might be important depending on the loudspeakers you will use. And those loudspeakers are what?
Good luck, it looks like you are on the right track!
For now, I will be using a pair of KEF IQ70, which aren't very good but I'm building a pair of back-loaded horns based on the Fostex full-range speakers. I already build a small pair based on Fostex. They sound better than the KEFs.
I just can't seem to find a review of the Music Hall A15.2. There are lots of super-great reviews on the Marantz 6004 though.
I recommend the Music Hall A15.2 also. It is only $499 from Music Direct, and I don't think you can beat it for under $1000.
I think that if you connect the KEF iQ70 speakers to the Music Hall 15.2 you may change your mind about how good they are. IMO they are pretty-good-sounding speakers.
