I currently have a Mcintosh C2600 pre-amp and a C275 amp; thinking about upgrading speakers for a large room and may need more power. I like tube amps, but am thinking about switching to solid state. Are there compatibility issues between tube and non-tube (keeping the C2600, and going to solid state mono blocks) and between Mcintosh and other SS blocks? Anyone able to suggest a combo of solid states to pair with the 2600 (looking for 200-300 Watts)?
