I have a Marantz NR1501 compact receiver. The receiver is hooked up to a Comcast xfinity cable box via HDMI.
I've had the receiver for 5+ years and has been working great. However in the past 6 months, the receiver will produce popping and crackling noises on initial start. The popping and crackling noises will continue for a minute or so before disappearing. The popping noises comes out from the speakers and the volume level can be controlled by the receiver. I can even mute the popping noises... It is as if the receiver needs time to 'warm up'. During this 'warm up' period, the receiver is not able to process and audio content from the cable box, just popping and crackling noises. Anyway, the 'warm up' time has gradually increased from 30 seconds to a few minutes in the part month.
Does anybody know what's going on?
