First, hardwood floors may be an issue depending on the rest of the room features.  If it is all hard, nothing will really be helped with just a change of speakers.

Second, what speakers do you have now?

Third, you have described your speakers but not your room (see above).  What is are the furnishings and what is the layout for speakers and listener.

$600/pair with a 60 day money back guarantee. Hard to beat with anything for under $1000.

Thank yopu Kal for your feedback.

The room has hardwood floors throughout; I actually thought this was a "good" thing for a listening room.

The 16' sides of the room are flat walls, with no bookcases or art currently on them. On one side of the 16' foot room is a large couch with one end of the couch a chaize (lounge). There is a glass coffee table in front of the couch and an endtable and a few plants; thats all. On the other 16' side are speakers on stands in the corners.  I generally sit on the couch when and face the speakers when I listen to music.

One entire 12' side of the room is glass window and sliding glass door. The other 12' side is open to a hallway and alcove, so it really opens 3' or 8' more, the 8' is an entry.

I use Cambridge Soundworks Newton 605's (but these are the speakers I intend to replace or maybe use as a "surroud" speaker?).

Thanks for your input.
