I'm new to the hobby. Been lurking for a while, finally going to invest a little money. I come from a guitar background so tube amps appeal to me. I'm looking at the Jolida JD801BRC and the Rogue Cronus. What are your thoughts? I'm still auditioning speakers, so I can't give you a concrete answer on that yet (any suggestions?). Like most just starting out I'm on a budget (2-2500 amp, 2kish speakers). My primary concern at the moment is that my listening room is fairly large, with high ceilings 400 SF +- so I'm thinking I'm going to need a bit of power. I've got some room tuning to deal with too, but I'm not there yet. Some specific questions about the two amps I'm looking at. How is the phono section on the Rogue? What phone section would you recommend for the Jolida (keep budget in mind here). Are there any other amps I should be looking at? Am I opening a can of worms with tubes that I shouldn't be? What about my budget constraints? I'm spending too much on amp and not enough on speakers? My thought was buy the amp now, upgrade speakers later.
