All three of those are great speakers and will pair well with the McIntosh and as I mentioned before, be wary of the new Peachtree. If you can, get out and listen to it and take a track like Journey''s Only the Young. I use this as my standard "brightness test" when I listen to a new piece of equipment. The dealer I listened to that Nova on had it paired with Totems to make it bearable. They said it was pointless to hook it up to the CM6s because it was just unbearable. The amp is a bit harsh at the extremes and I like that track because the graininess came through immediately. I dislike the B&W 6xx series because it does the same thing with a neutral amp.

Regarding the speakers, the LS50s are dead neutral and are very revealing with modest bass extension. You will want a sub. The Concerta2s are more forward and a hair less revealing than their big brother, the Performa3. The CM6s are particularly revealing as they are the most forward of the three and can deliver some true, wow moments but without proper pairing on the amp can be fatiguing. This is a highly competitive segment and there are lots of other great speakers from paradigm, monitor audio, scansonic, PSB, Dynaudio, Sonus Faber, totem, wharfedale and I am sure many others. It seems to be a sweet spot in quality. The three you have picked are great and have very broad appeal.

To beat these three in a noticeable way you need to spend a LOT more. Like $6K to hear a noticeable difference.

looking for the impressions from the 3 bookshelves above. considering to start my first stereo system by one of them.

any advice in how they perform with a peachtree nova150 or a McIntosh MA5200?

thanks,

I suggest that you consider the Focal Chorus 706 speakers; they are excellent.

thank you again!

i read absolutely amazing reviews regarding the KEFs. really impressive. starting to consider them with the MC5200.. but, as you said, i'd need a proper sub.
regarding this - which sub, in the below $700 range, with the best quality/power ratio, would you recommend?
chosing the KEF and a sub, would the parasound halo integrated do a better job than the MC5200?

That sucks that you can't get out and listen to things. In this case I would focus on getting something that is safe and predictable. The Kefs are a safe, exceptional choice. Particularly since you aren't looking for super high volumes, they are a fine choice.

I don't know about the Parasound Halo with the Kefs. It should be fine but I have never heard the combo. It is a highly regarded integrated. The Creek Evolution 100A would be a fine choice. The Rogue Audio Sphinx would be a fine choice with those Kefs (just not with the CM6). Also the Musical Fidelity M5si would be a nice choice. I just don't like the new edition of the Nova which is sad because I loved the prior line. if you want to try the Nova, can you buy it from a place with a return policy?

The McIntosh is awesome. The devices mentioned above will all fall a bit short of the Mc for resolution. They aren't bad, just not quite in the same league. Simaudio has an integrated in the Mcs price range and they tend to be great sounding as an alternative.

In addition to all mentioned above, which are awesome for the money, I would add some Audio Research integrated as well as the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated amp. The Rotel's flagship integrated RA-1592 is spectacular too and is in the same league as the Parasound Halo integrated the Musical Fidelity M5 and M6.
Whereas the Audio Research integrated and the Classe Sigma 2200i integrated are in the same league as the McIntosh integrateds IMO.

I forgot to add Rega Elicit-R integrated amp to your short list. But I don't know how these integrated amps would pair with the KEF LS50.

Unfortunately, i dont have many opportunities here to listen to those products.. what is a shame.

What about the Parasound Halo or the MA5200 with those SONUS FABER VENERE 1.5s?

Sonus Faber can be a hair polarizing in that they offer a somewhat colored sound. The Mc or the Parasound will be awesome with them. Very good match.

Hello everyone,

Bierfeldt, thanks for your support.

Well, i think i'll stay with the peachtree.

As i said before, i don't have many opportunities here in Rio to try or even listen those systems.

I saw McIntosh is revamping their integrated line (it began a pair of months ago with the MA8900). And they don´t support overseas equipment. Since it's a very expensive option, and after all i'm just beginning in listening hi-fi.. maybe later.

Probably i'll close case with the revel performa3 M106 or the sonus faber venere 1.5 or the KEF LS50 + the peachtree nova. i really like that iphone input, the headphone is great.. seems a good beginner initiave, doesnt it?
