Rotel is a sister company of B&W and will likely be your best option in the price range you are looking at. They are literally designed to sound good together.

Hi all,

I received brand new B&W 805 D3's (actually the previous model, not the latest one)and as I am not expert on audio wanted to hear if anyone can recommend what AMP to use (ideally integrated DAC to have everything in one piece). Budget is around EUR 1,5k. I plan to have input from PC thus integrated AMP and in the future maybe to start building vinyls collection thus adding turntable to the set up.

What I looked on and seemed okay to me was Rotel RA-1572 (brand new is around EU 1.7k)...would this be better option than Arcam A39 or Cambridge audio Azur in your view.

Would appreciate to hear tips, suggestions. Also what do you think of buying this item as used one instead of brand new (this way I might get more for quality for my budget ... e.g. Naim Nait XS2?)

Cheers & Thanks

You should find a used one..... something like Naim Nait XS2 or a used Naim Uniti Star or Atom, whichever is cheaper. Or you can also find a used Rotel RA-1592 integrated amp has built-in DAC. It normally retails for $2500 here in the US but you can probably find a used one for maybe around the same price as the brand new RA-1572. The RA-1592 performs and sounds quite a bit better than the RA-1572 and will sound pretty good on the B&W 805 D3. The RA-1592 is Rotel's flagship stereo integrated amp.

But if you can, I would suggest looking at a used entry level Naim integrated or Uniti series.
Naim will be quite a big step up sonically and musically from Rotel.
