I just turned the corner - I moved a subwoofer from the main system (since I have a bigger/better one there now) to my desktop. Thus, the excellent little AudioEngine 2's, which have everything but low bass, now have plenty of nicely integrated bass. The sub is on the floor and off to the side but can't be "localized", it sounds like FULL range coming from the AE's. iTunes and Spotify and etc via USB into a NuForce uDAC2. I'm all set w/ computer sound now, any further upgrades go to the main system from here on out.
