As far as I know Power amps consume a lot of power and u really need to feed them their diet to get the best out of them,but interestingly many of the manufacturers don't provide that info on their brochures, so It makes me wonder just how many people end up buying components they wont be able to feed properly and the reviewers also omit this in their reviews.so I've made a rule of thumb that class A amps consume about 4 times as their output power where as class AB will need about half as that.So the 4800 Watts of my Ac line if only dedicated to my power amps, would feed about 1200 watts of class A and 2400 of class AB.
