I am very new HIFI. I was given a pair of JBL D130 speakers in JBL cabinets. I have a question on how to power them. They are vintage so I am not sure if using a modern receiver is acceptable. What i read is that the speakers need no more than 35 watts. the receiver that i have is a marantz sr7001 it delivers 140 watts. Is there any way to make this receiver work or do i need to get a dedicated amp that is 35 watts? I really want to get a tube amp for this but dont know how to power it with a tube amp either.
