Hi

I went an bought some decent open Sennheiser hd650 300ohm headphones. I'm using them on my computer but music sounds muffled and garbage compared to my ipod with £$ 10 in ear headphones...

I know I need to invest in a DAC and an AMP, or a combo...my question is, does the fact that my computer has shitty onboard sound (headphones currently plugged directly into that) mean that no matter what amp/dac I buy and plug into the computer, my headphones aren't going to live up to their potential?

Or will an external dac and amp sort it out?

My budget is 100-200 $£

Obviously a newbie to audio, lol.
