Help on upgrading system

Hi,

Was just wanting some recommendations or advice on possibly upgrading my system at home, or wether it is even worth it.

Currently i am running a Rega Rp1 turntable (Rega Carbon cartridge), A Music Hall a 15.2 Integrated amp and Paradigm Mini Monitor V7 bookshelves

I listen to quite a broad range of music (all variations of rock 60's, 70's 80's and some newer stuff too, soul and bits of jazz and blues. Not a massive amount of electronic style but sometimes a little) and because i have built a cabinet around my turntable and amp it would be preferable to upgrade the speakers if it is worth it, i guess i am looking at maybe floor standing upgrade as oppose to the bookshelves but not sure if its worth it based on what i listen too. Listen to a combination of records or if i'm lazy i just play via spotify

I would look at just buying a subwoofer to add another element into the system but i really don't have a lot of room for it (small 1 bedroom apartment) so thats why i am leaning towards the floor standing speakers.

Thanks for your help

I think it would be worth it.

I think it would be worth it. Stand mounts in small rooms can be amazingly musical and if your room modes accentuate the bottom end, they can extend the lower frequencies more than you might think. Dollar for dollar, you can buy more speaker in a stand mount than a floor stander.

Because speakers and rooms

Because speakers and rooms react so differently, it's hard to be specific. Having said that, I'm a big fan of Dynaudio speakers. But, you'd be crazy not to utilize the Stereophile reviews as your guide post.

Upgrade to Devialet Expert Pro amplifiers

I suggest the Devialet Expert Pro integrated amps, they include a DAC, a phono stage, and it sounds amazing. If you live in NYC, Devialet Soho does free at home demos of them with your speakers. Just call them and they will do it

Thanks for the info all,

Thanks for the info all,

After doing a bit of reading i think i am going to look more at getting a sub to integrate into my current set-up, with what i am running at the moment what would be a good sub to add into the mix?
The room size is approximately 10 feet x 18feet so not sure what size i should be looking at to accomodate

Cheers!
