Hello there. I’m a teenager, taking his first steps to becoming an audiophile. I have two main questions, one concerning my set-up at the current moment, and one concerning any future rigs.
I’ll start with my question about my current set-up, which is as follows:
I run my laptop into a Harman Kardon HK 3390, with a pair of Polk Audio m50’s and a PSW10 subwoofer. My laptop connects to my receiver using an every day 3.5mm to RCA cable. My question is, at the current moment, is there anything I can (or should) add to my set-up? I’ve been reading about DAC’s, but do I need one if I have a receiver?
My second question is a bit broader, concerning the future:
I’ve just now started reading about pre-amps, amps, DAC’s, etc. In a set-up where my laptop is my primary source of audio, what components do I want to look at?
