Ok, so my knowledge is quite limited, much like my funds for this project. But...
I was recently given a Pioneer Elite VSX-80TXV Receiver. Seems like a decent receiver, i have it working with my Plasma connecting a PS3, Wii, and cable box with no issues.
However, it's running crap speakers that my roomate had from a HTIB. So i want to begin to build my own system, but i need to do it one step at a time.
My thinking is that for my own personal enjoyment, i should purchase some decent towers first, a sub second, and then fill out the surround later. This will be used almost 50/50 for music and tv/movies, if that matters.
I have limited funds (meaning i'd like to buy the beggining of this setup for $1K), so what are my options and recommendations.
