Okay, so these calculations are easy with the right specs and a little knowledge. Absolute wattage of the speaker is not critical. It’s SPL rating is though.

The SPL along with the power rating of the amp at the appropriate impedance combined with speaker placement and your listening distance from the speaker will give you a good guess as to volume output.

Since a 6ohm rating isn’t available for your amp, we can assume 25w (power output goes up as impedance drops) and the SPL rating for the speaker is 86dB. I am going to guess the speakers will be near a wall and you will be 8’ from them. This would have a max volume of 98.2dB. Sounds like a lot but you should remember that music has dynamics and you want to have about 15dB in headroom to deal with dynamics within the music. 20dB for home theater. This means you max continuous volume level will be around 83dB. Not bad but if you like to turn it up to 11, this pairing is not a good choice.

This website is a great resource for this

As far as signal from a PC, a stereo headphone to RCA is the way to get that PC signal to the amp without an external DAC. You have more flexibility with an external DAC but that will cost a little.

If you can spend a few more bucks, consider the Dali Spector 2 speakers, for $299.

Hello
I am new to this forum and audio!
Your work seems very organized and there's a lot to learn in this forum (especially for new guys like me).

I have a NAD 3020 (the old one) and a pair of rcf br1037 (broken woofer and tweeter, changed them to an aftermarket one but they don't sound so good right now...shouldn't fix them at all.)

i am planning to listen some Wharfedale 10.1 from the local shop.
i have 2 questions:

NAD 3020: 2x20w - 8Ω
Wharfedale 10.1: 100W - 6Ω

*Can i pair them with my NAD 3020? If i can, how loudly can i listen to music before the signal starts clipping / destroying sound and my speakers?

*How can i listen to music in good quality from my PC? (only option i know is by using an rca to 3.5mm from my amp to PC).

Thanks in advance!
Kostas

i will go to the local store to listen the diamonds.. our local shop does not have dali speakers but i'll think of it.

* i can get the 10.1 for 185€ and 10.5 for 289€ . are the 10.5 far superior? (they are huge though)

*are these cables suitable for these speakers for 4meters length?
