Hello, everyone, I am new here.

My name is David, and I am obsessed with vinyl. I am going to be a junior in high school in the fall, and am 16 years old. been an avid Stereophile reader since I saw the McIntosh MC501 on the cover of one at my local library....

My system as it stands, is in my sig. I have about $200 into it, and have been VERY fortunate to have spent $150 of it on my Teac. Most everything else was free, except for a few cables adn a stylus for my Shure M91. That's not the only iteration my system has had, but that's the current setup. I just sold my JBL 4311's a couple weeks ago, as once I got the Advents I could not go back....

I am a VERY active member of AudioKarma, and TapeHeads.

I have about 1300-1500 LP's, mostly from the Goodwill and friends.....

I was also in the January article in Time magazine about vinyl (courtesy of Michael Fremer).

I am a theater techie, and live sound is what I do best...but I am somewhat adept at lighting, being able to run 2 spotlights at the same time tracking two people....
.....if you cannot tell yet, I spend a LOT of time in the theater at my school.......

I guess that's me, and I hope to be posting regularly on this forum.

my cirrent weekend project is: building my own turntable out of parts that I already have on hand, and a $10 maxiumu outlay of money.

To wit, i stripped a Miracord XS200 of it's non-working automechanism, and am about to mount a Shure M232 arm off of a Russco Cuemaster in need of a new idler on a separate arm-board. Cartridge will be a Shure M93 with a good stylus that I have sitting around here. just a fun weekend project.
