I need some help deciding on a head phone and DAC/amp to use with my MacBook when I move into dorms to study sound recording next year and need to leave my stereo at home:(
I've almost decided upon the Sennheiser HD600 with the Apogee One. Based on what I've read, the HD600 seems neutral enough, and Apogee seems to be very respected for their products. The One is more a DAC than a headphone amp though, so I'm curious as to whether I would be better off with for example a Meier Corda 3move (Which also has a usb interface).
I will be studying recording with focus on classical music; thus I want the headphone/amp combo to sound most transparent or close to the original recording as possible. I don't need any extra bass or other "colouring".
Any thoughts?
