Hello and calling all willing experts,

Yes, I was given some TRi9a speakers. The culprit knew I was trying to figure our a way to get optical digital source music from my Apple TV (don;t laugh quite yet please) to a high end stereo system. So now the speaker thing has been solved (or has it?), I really would like some help in buying the right kind of amp. To trial the concept, I hooked up a Pioneer integrated 5 channel amp in "direct" (?) stereo mode using its optical in port... It works!!! and if you push the volume know up some it even kicks the bass into life (I think the amp is not very strong or accurate (?) to sound good through these speakers at low volume. ... and .. no, I am not happy with the quality of sound. It still leaves me with a feeling not being too bothered or even irritated at the music (classical stuff I love such as Dvorsac or Mozart). So I know the concept works (as it should I guess), Will a good amp (power amp?) do the trick? if so what would be good enough? I could buy a Krell second hand on Ebay if that's what's called for but perhaps there are some good ideas out there. Another idea was to possibly buy Adcom 200Wpc or 300Wpc.. they look heavy and sound good and have optical input... but how good are they in sound reproduction on the four criteria I hear everyone talk about?
Any words of wisdom gratefully received. To help tune any responses: I am technical but not an audio expert (novice) I obviously like the sound of rather expensive equipment which is why I haven't bought anything yet. I would like to use the ATV a my music server and have high quality audio files stored on it (if that's not going to work, please let me know - i.e. stick to CD/SACD?).

Many thanks for any help! Floor
