I have just purchased a set of Spendor S5E speakers and have been surprised to find that my Cambridge Audio 840A is having a heck of a time driving them. I have since seen reference to the fact that these speakers are inefficient (even though rated at 8ohm, more like 4 ohm). I do love their warm sound though, so at this point am contemplating moving the amp out of my system. Any suggestions for good integrated amps to drive these? I favour full, dynamic sound - not laid back. Am thinking perhaps a Naim Nait 5i, Creek Classic 5350SE or Primare I30 might do the trick. I would also consider PRimaluna Prologue (1 or 2) though I'm concerned these might not have the oomph to drive the Spendors. Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.
