I have listened to both speakers but not side by side. The Triton 5s are easier to power, are less expensive (for you on deal) and tremendously good speakers. I listened to them driven by a PrimLuna Dialogue XP and liked how full they sounded with a surprising amount of bass. They can deliver some wow moments. I loved them playing Roger Waters. The only speakers I have heard that I like better on that Amused to Death album are quite a bit more expensive.

I feel like the Monitor Audio 8s (which I heard driven by Bryston gear) are a little less forward and have a little less bass. The Djinni's Voice in the song Three Wishes is what I use to gauge bass and the Silvers fell a hair short but that isn't always a bad thing. A wow on one song could be annoying in another. The Silvers were just a little more balanced was my impression but I liked both very much.

In both cases, I was there to listen to other speakers and opted to listen to them because I have heard such great things about both. I did not have deep listening sessions. Also, they were in different rooms, powered by different amps months apart from each other. The only thing that was the same was the songs I picked.

Hello! First time here. I snooped around and you guys seem to be a bunch of helpful, mature folks who really do love your gears, so I am hoping I can get some help here.

Have any of you kind people auditioned both Triton Five and Monitor Audio Silver 8 and give me some feedbacks? I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.
Cheers!

I would suggest that the Focal Chorus 726 is another excellent speaker to consider. They are being sold for $1900 per pair.

Thank you so much for your help. I ended up heading to audition Monitor Audio Silver 8 for an hour this past weekend. I felt like almost everything sounded perfect, but not any better than Triton Five. I did feel like I hear a lot more instruments out of the Silver 8 though.

Went back to listen to Triton Five again, and once again I found the vocal to be overall stronger than Monitor Audio Silver 8.

That said, one thing led to another, and I ended up purchasing Triton Three+ at $2000 a pair! I'm hoping I've made a right choice!
