So i've become pretty frustrated trying to uber-digitalize my listening experience. The aggravation from simply trying to turn on my system and listen to something (usually classical or choral) has beaten me down.
A few times i popped an old CD into my dvd player and suddenly my stereo would come to life and it was so simple to do!
Aside from the promise of lossless quality files i could download I'm going old school with CD's. I just bought a used NAD 515 5-DISC player to hook up to my existing NAD C 326BEE amp connected to a pair of locally made Ohm Walsh 1000's.
Some questions on getting this all to optimal quality.
1-Is there anything about this setup that screams out "big mistake"? Have i paired something totally wrong? (i'm trying to get the most bang for my buck in what i am buying)
2-What sort of wire should i use to connect the speakers? I'm in a NYC apartment room size is 12x12 with 10foot ceilings. I don't want to go broke with wire (is it true that thick lamp wire is just as good?)
Would love any advice or opinions about this.
Thanks in advance,
Jack
