Hello there,

Well this is my first post here. I'm very fresh to being an audio/stereophile, as I only got started with this adventure about two years ago and my first experiences with great audio were in a box store (blech, I know!). Basically I remember listening to a Cambridge Audio Azur840C hooked up to a pair of Kef Q900's and after that I knew I needed to have an amazing stereo!

So here we are about two years later and I am now here to get more information about creating my musical nirvana. Without further ado, here is my set-up:

My set-up consists of being both stereo and home theatre, however it's mostly used for music.

The Brains (Amplifier/Receiver) Pioneer Elite VSX37-TX

The Braun (Speakers)

Fronts: Celestion DL12 Series 2 Tower Speakers

Center: Polk Audio CSI5

Subwoofer: Currently none, but I do own a Polk Audio Micropro 1000

Rears: Polk Audio fxi3 Dipole/Bipoles

That's what I've got. The source I use is mostly my Playstation 3. Not exactly ideal, but it does a good job! I listen to all digital sources at the moment but I am planning to venture down the path of analog, which is one of the reasons I am here.

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone knew a little more about the gear I have. I'm quite new to the audio scene and know very little about differences between drivers, crossover points, and all that jazz. Also I know very little about which CD players are good to buy and which ones to avoid. I understand how they can benefit a system but unfortunately I don't really know who makes good audio gear! So a little shove in the right direction would be nice.

Other then that, just wanted to say hello and that I am ready to learn!
