Hey, im new to this forum. My dad passed down a somewhat vintage stereo to me, its a Fisher Studio Standard, model CA-860. It came with the integrated stereo amplifier, am/fm tuner, cassette deck, turntable, the two studio standard speakers that sound amazing and a pioneer disk changer. This unit has worked perfect for over 15 years and when i received it i used it a lot so it has some sentimental value to it. It worked great until i bought a small car speaker encloser with a speaker in it from walmart...yeah the cheap ones) and it wouldn't work right in my car so i brought it in the house to make sure it wasn't any wires crossed in the vehicle...well when i hooked it up to the left channel and turned the stereo on and popped in my Ozzy cd..it made a loud pop and then followed a loud buzzing noise. i figured i had blown the amp because when i disassembled the speaker case it was all messed up...so i returned that peice of crap speaker and now im left with alot of damage done to my stereo. i took the cover off the main unit and checked it out and yeah it blew a couple fuses and i replaced them and still it dont work...can anyone assist me or is this just a lost cause?
