It is difficult to choose a speaker based on what someone else says.  Reviews and professional opinions should provide a range of options for audition.  But one should then really listen before they buy.

I don't think you will hear much difference between those integrated amps and the HK 3490.  The HK 3490 is competently designed and as you point out, feature rich.  As well, it can be had for less money.

Harman Kardon HK 3490 $300

NAD C316BEE $350

Marantz PM5004 $450

Hi there,

I own the wharfedale 10.1 and the nad 316 bee, and I like them. A lot.

Most of all, I can personally assure you that the NAD and a solid lazy attitude can happily coexist. I use it for vinyl (with a pro-ject debut III) and playing audio from my macbook through (bear with me) a AUX-minijack line. And I am happy, sir!

As for a future use of vinyl, you can add a phono stage like the phono-box II by project (70 bucks, maybe less). It's basic but of honest quality.

Please note that the nad316/diamond10.1 has been indicated to me as the ideal set-up for listening to rock music, so keep in mind your musical taste too.

Hope I've been helpful,
