I live in the Columbus area and am looking for a home theater service provider.

Most of the companies I've seen are installers with a limited amount of audio products.
"Genesis" is the only retailer I've seen that provides instillation services, yet their selection of speakers seems very limited.

I wonder how many installers will actually set up the speakers properly and make sure the room is acoustically optimized.

.

A limited selection of speakers is not a problem if the dealer has selected those speaker lines with care, to provide the best performance for the money.

Unfortunately, there are many home theater specialists that specialize in one or two lines of speakers that you will not find in Stereophile, or any other mainstream publication.

This is because they push a speaker line that is obscure, from a small company that only supplies installers, and has a huge markup, insuring a huge profit margin for the dealer; a rip-off (and probably 3rd-rate speakers).

If you can't find reviews on their speaker brands in Stereophile or Home Theater Review or other mainstream publications, that is a company you want to stay away from. They are pushing overpriced crap.
