Alright, so, I recently bought an Oppo universal digital player for use with my stereo. One of my favorite albums, Sting's "Ten Summoner's Tales", is available in hi-res, but only in the DTS 5.1 surround format. I've enjoyed the CD for years, but I'm curious if there is a superior sonic experience of which I could take advantage.

My question is this: With the knowledge that any MC information will be down-mixed to stereo on my system, would a DTS recording be valuable for the enhanced resolution alone? Does that even make sense, or should I just stick with the CD or hold out for the (hope of hopes) SACD?

Thanks!
