Due to room rstrictions,i am forced to combine "home theater" with "hi-fi".Fortunately,my pre-amp (Jeff Rowland Synergy ii" has pass-through facility. My HT amp is a Denon AVC-A1xv(i believe the equivalent US model is the AVR-5805)
Whenever i press the pass-through switch on the "synergy",i get a high-pitched noise much like the one we get when connecting rca plugs on an amp without muting it.I tried everything!Changed the xlr adaptors (the sysnergu is only balanced) from normal ones to cardas,to Jeff Rowland and B.A.T.s but nothing. The problem still there.I even took 4 interconnects and made 2 longer ones using female-to-female adaptors. Now,something happened.I still get the noise but now it happens after a few seconds and only when i turn off the Denon. As long as the Denon is on,everything is okay. When i turn it off, after about 5-7 seconds, the noise begins.
It feels to me like a "grounding" problem but can't be sure.
Can anyone help ?
