I was going to get the https://www.powersoundaudio.com/products/V3611 but the price was a bit high, so I thought DIY was a good option. I am planning on getting two subs, but for now I want to start with one and go on from there. Is the link above a good sub that fits modern music and a good movie or two? Also, recommendations for an amp would be nice, integrated or external, it doesn't matter.
