HELP...I have just refurbished my original Thorens TD-150 but didn't remove the MA Cartridge, I just replace the stylus. The Thorens manual shows a distance of 20mm from the inside of the shell head to the stylus tip. Mine measures out, using a digital caliber, to 23mm. Is it necessary to remove the shims and bring that number down to 20mm. It was never a problem but this is actually the first time I have measured it. any input would be welcomed as I don't want to fire it up until I'm sure it doesn't need to be "deshimmed"
THANKS,
Electric Mike
