I haven't had any problems posting. Not sure what your talking about. Maybe you've got slow internet speed? You're right there's not many members here. Don't know why there aren't more.

I've been reading Stereophile since the small, quarterly, Philadelphia, version existed in the early '70s. I'm still impressed and enjoying the magazine every month.

Thank you for your loyalty.

Unfortunately, this place has less in common with the quality of the magazine.

1) It takes "forever" (wasted minutes) to load and is, generally, a slow site.

Only the editorial content is sourced from our server; all the advertising has to come from many other third-party servers and with a slow internet connection, this can cause a page to load slowly. We have tried to address this by ensuring that the content always loads before the advertising, but again, if you have a slow connection, this doesn't ensure that the page will have loaded in an acceptable time. Apologies.

2) Too many of my attempted compositions have vanished as I wrote, and several time-wasting, editing problems occur, way too often.

I am sorry about this. I haven't had that problem myself, so I am not sure what is happening. Again, it might be due to you having a slow internet connection.

It's, mostly, just the Fourms section I was referring to, and not the other content. I was hoping for more and better rapport with other members, with less bickering, but that's typical of internet forms everywhere.

My internet speed is usually over 60Mbs, down, with four Mbs, up. When responding, the cursor will disappear, and I must use the directional arrows to navigate. Other, random, gremlins also creep into typing.

It could be me. I've had two hearing aids go bad, with little use. My power amp failed and took out two woofers. Computer and printer problems keep revisiting. It's been a bad year for other electronics at my place. I'm wondering if my electro-magnetic aurora has gone critical?

There are issues with every audio forum, some bigger than others. If you could see what I've seen with my eyes...

This occasionally happens with my postings, but we haven't yet been able to fix the problem :-(

You might consider using Firefox as your browser. It's not perfect, but Explorer just became a nightmare for me. Nothing seemed to load without glitches.

About five years ago I had problems with FF, after using that browser successfully for several years. Google was a big improvement. Maybe FF is better now and I could add it as another browser; I really don't care who connects me, as long as I'm safe and don't have to wait too often. Stereophile often takes so long to load I'm asked if I want to kill the page. Of the sites I frequently visit, this is the slowest. Could it be Charter, my IP?

For what it's worth the site loads almost instantly on my ipad2 which of course uses Safari.

A couple other sites which once loaded and responded very slowly, are now quick. It must be something unique to my PC settings or connection and not the Stereophile site.

There is a delay of some 3-4 seconds whilst I'm on my iPad, so there is some delay, just not much delay using Safari. If I can be so bold, not having a search function for this forum is a little ridiculous. But since I have a photographic memory it's no biggie for me.

John, I've been afflicted with the disappearing cursor issue, too. When it disappears, I find that moving the mouse towards the center of the text box brings it back. If the mouse moves towards the edges, you can't click there and reposition the cursor. I don't know if that helps out the tech folks or not, but figured I'd let you know.

Thanks..

Barry
