Greetings and warmest wishes to all on this forum. I'm brand new and this is my first post, so I apologize if I'm rehashing old news here.
I seek the wisdom of the mac/recording/audio adept. I'm beginning to build my first audiophile system and my sonic catalog is predominantly mp3 and vinyl. While I do realize that there are high end docks I can get for an ipod that would satisfy the digital side of my music collection, I'm looking for a professional quality DAC to interface my Macbook Pro with my receiver that will also allow me to connect 1/4" and XLR inputs for recording on the mac. Does this ideal two way DAC exist? If so what are the best candidates and connection options? If anyone on the forums can point me to a good resource or provide me suggestion I would be very gracious.
