I always enjoyed the equipment comparisons Stereo Review used to do, but nobody seems to do them anymore. I think it would inject some much needed fun into Stereophile's pages. Wouldn't it be cool to have maybe one per month? I just get tired of reading reviews that give the impression the equipment under discussion exists in a vaccuum. I'm thinking, "fine, it sounds good, but how does it compare to x,y and z? Which one is best for me?"
As an example of what I think might be a "fun" (and helpful)review, how about "$2000 floorstanding speakers". Gather up a bunch and do some basic tests and then just line 'em up baby! And have at least three reviewers involved in each test, just to make it more interesting...and fun!
...geez, you guys really should pay me for this stuff!
