Hi everyone!
I have been reading this publication and forum for a long time, but this is my first post...
why? I need some help from more experienced people!
My setup (audio wise) at the moment consists of:
Pioneer BDP450
Pioneer LX57
GoldenEar Triton 7
In peruse of musicvana I was thinking about adding a dedicated CD player to the equation.
first question is: without spending thousands, would there really be an improvement?
I know some of you will probably recommend an Oppo BDP.... dont. My receiver packs (almost) the same DAC as the highly regarded Oppo 105 so I dont believe there will be a worthy improvement.
I'm want to go for a proper CD player, connected via analog.
Now.... what would you recommend? up to $600 (ish) happy to hunt for second hand gear.
There is one Rega Planet 2000 in a local auction site. I love the looks and everyone seems to have praise....
how do you think a 14 years old cdp would stack to newer players? (likes of Marantz CD6004)
if you need more information, please ask :)
I'm open to suggestions, comments and I'm in here to learn as well :)
Thank you in advance guys!
(PS: please dont rant about the "death of the CD" and say that I should just stream hi-res files from a NAS drive... 1) i got that covered; 2)its not the same FEELING wise... )
