You will run an RCA cable from the Pre-Outs on the back of the C388 into the Sunfire. In general, I am not a cable advocate but unbalanced, RCA cables are one of the few I would strongly recommend. You don't need to get crazy, but a good cable can reduce noise. Consider the Audioquest Chicago line as it is reasonably priced, very high quality and because it is a pair of cables as opposed to a single cable like AQs normal line, it will allow connection despite the inputs being very far apart on the back of the Sunfire.
Also, the "voltage" output will sound a bit more like a Tube Amp while the "current" output will sound a bit more solid state. Both are fine and neither will damage speakers. If your speakers are bi-wirable, a lot of people connect the mid-range and tweeter to the "voltage" posts and the bass to the "current" posts.
Enjoy! Sunfire makes some wonderful amps.
Easy, your response is super appreciated and the kind of reassurance I was looking for. In fact my Paradigm speakers are bi-wire ready, so the tidbit on "current" vs "voltage" was a nice bonus. Thanks!!
Easy, given how you have suggested connecting my NAD and speakers to the Sunfire, how best do I connect my SVS SB13 Ultra sub into the system? Thanks!!
But you need to run an RCA cable to the sub then run an RCA cable from the sub to the Sunfire. This is the only way I can see to connect it.

I see what you mean. I am going to need a dedicated preamp, and have been told that a Parasound Halo P5 would do the trick for an affordable price. Thanks for your response!
That is the alternative t running all that cable to and from the sub. The Parasound Halo P5 is a goog choice for the money.
The Vincent SA 31 is a bit less expensive at $699 as a simple line stage but lacks other features like an internal DAC which you may be using which the P5 has. You could add a Bluesound Node 2 which has a DAC and offere multiple streaming services built in for about the same money.
Also, do you have a turntable attached? If not The Cambridge CXN could be interesting as a choice as well.
I've been unavailable for a bit, but thanks for your last response. I do now have the Parasound P5, I was planning on connecting my svs sb13Ultra sub via the balanced connects and use the sub to manage the lowpass filtering. I would like to use the P5 to manage the high pass filtering to the main speakers, but if I am connecting the main speakers to the Carver Sunfire Signature amp, I'm left confused by the output L/R RCAs on rear of P5, which seem required in order to enlist the high pass control I am looking for. Hope this makes good enough sense! Thanks!
The best and surest way to get this done right is to reach out to Parasound. I have found them spectacularly responsive in the past. There was a time after the P3 was discontinued and before the P5 came out and the president of the company go back to me in regards to an inquiry I made on a Saturday evening. Super nice people over there and I am confident in their customer service.
Send them a note explaining what you want to do and they will tell you exactly how to do it if it is possible or provide you the best alternative. Basically, I don't know off hand what outputs are attached to what in that P5. They will and I am sure will be able to give you clear, concise directions.
