Hypothetical situation: You are at the shopping mall with your 10 year old daughter. You see someone going into the women's restroom who to you is quite obviously a man dressed as a woman. Your daughter says she needs to go to the bathroom. Do you let her go by herself? Or do you tell her to wait a couple minutes to see if the man dressed as a woman comes out. If you in any way hesitate in letting her go in, then get off the high horse about transgender bathroom rights. Truth is you have no idea whether that "man" is trans-gendered, questioning, identifying as female, or just some pervert looking to spy on or expose himself to young girls.
The obvious best solution is to add uni-sex washrooms. Those who are uncomfortable with mixed gender facilities will use the men's or women's rooms that match their gender. Those totally comfortable with anyone using the washroom will use the uni-sex.End of issue.
Here in the Chicago suburbs last year there was a case where the Federal Government was going to punish a high school for not allowing a boy who "identifies" as a girl use the girl's locker room in the open with all the girls. The school allowed the boy to be in the girl's locker room but he would be behind a curtain. Again, this seems like the perfect compromise, but the Feds came in and said the school was violating the rights of the boy who identifies as a girl. Never mind the rights and comfort of all the other girls. Eventually the Feds conceded that the school's compromise was acceptable.
Call me a bigoted, fascist hate-monger, but I do not see any Earthly good that can come from introducing penises to a high school girls locker room. I am not so much worried about the boy molesting a girl, but in this day and age I can see a couple of sexually aggressive young ladies deciding they would "make a man" of the boy whether he wanted to or not. Either way, it would be an assault brought about by the wholly excessive catering to every demand of every minutely small fringe group
